You have worked hard and it shows.

And strange isn't it how some discoveries just wait to be noticed. Sometimes they are so obvious but its grand to find them finally. especially after they have been set aside as a "mission failure"

Sort of reminds me of the story that I think arc told ... about Watson and Holmes ... sleuths that they were... out camping under the stars. All the complicated explainations about the stars in the sky ended with this

"Holmes was silent for a minute, then spoke.
"Watson, you idiot. Some jerk has stolen our tent.”

Reminds me of a Captain Watson I knew once. After sliding in sideways, filled with smoke and bullet holes. The report said that the plane crashed and burned because the landing gear wasn't down properly. Right.

The truth eventually finds its way to the surface, and you Andrew have deserved to be there. Maybe those lab notes were just waiting for the proper time for their story to be recognized. Dr. Brown would be proud of you.

Mr. Twigsnapper,

Thank you for encouraging Andrew; I know it means a lot to him. Yes he deserves to be here.

I am looking forward to see how far we can take Qualight Superconductors!

I guess your comment about Watson was a point for us to take: ~THINGS ARE NEVER AS THEY SEEM ~

Did you know him before he was a Captain then? As Sub-Lieutenant Ian "Soapy" Watson at the time of that "incident"? It's been, what, twenty or twenty-five years? So WAS it a NATO "exercise"? I guess not, with "camouflaged" bullet holes.

Unnecessary punishment doled out by the Royal Navy brass AND it wasn't a mission failure?? Hmmmm.... I wonder what happened to his disappearing flight leader (and who was his flight leader?)..... WHY did he take the punishment if he knew that it wasn't a mission failure?

Einsteins formula. More important than the other one, in our world anyway!

Thank you for that LBL. I will be looking forward to one of your celebrations with Andrew! I do like formal situations . The men are all so handsome in their tuxedos and the ladies in the long dresses ... ah, polish up my dancing shoes ....reminds me of a scene from a movie a long long time ago. The girl arrives in a red ( think it was) Ferrari ... ( which they sadly blew sky high later, remember?) Worth the whole movie to watch her step out of that car and move through the crowds...... reminded me of you actually. Please take that as the compliment it is meant and not as the musings of a randy old gentleman. I can't remember if she wore a flower in her hair or not but the effect was the same.

As they say. Beauty and Brains too.

Don't know about the first name and would bet some Navy beans to your Navy brass...<g>...that Watson wasn't his real name just like Morgan isn't really Morgan's name. Sideways and bullet holes... more like Air America where they serve cocktails after takeoff and almost always bring you in hot into beautiful Laos.

As to his name being soapy, I would say that he may have marked his terrritory much like a dog would...any wall at any time is just a place to mark.

Remember the very last scene in True Lies? The Black Dress and fake gun/lipstick that made the car salesman wet his pants? That scene, that situation was a dream of mine to live.... but I see my path lies elsewhere.

That first celebration will be one of many, you know! Suits, ties, little black dresses, love that feeling of success.

I couldn't remember that movie you referred to; what was it called? AND no, I wouldn't take offence. I know it was a compliment. See me blush?

In the Spy Museum in DC today.... That place is enormous! One fun thing was a lipstick gun used in WWII. Single shot pistol...... pretty cool.

AND, in the business world, we still "spy" and managed covert operations. However, it is called Strategic and Competitive Analysis.

Superdconductor breakthrough...

Hussey and his team used ultra-high (pulsed) magnetic fields – some of the most powerful in the world – to destroy the superconductivity and follow the form of the electrical resistance down to temperatures close to absolute zero.

They found that it was as the superconductivity becomes stronger, so does the scattering that causes the resistance in the metallic host from which superconductivity emerges. At some point however, the interaction that promotes high temperature superconductivity gets so strong, that ultimately it destroys the very electronic states from which the superconducting pairs form. The next step will be to identify just what that interaction is and how might it be possible to get around its self-destructive tendencies
